After we moved to New York City, we found there existed a huge demand for clean and comfortable short term apartment rentals. We started with one apartment and did everything ourselves, including cleaning, repairs and making our own website. In three years, we grew from 1 to 10 apartments. We have also found other friend's apartments to rent out. We now have several excellent cleaners and a "roving super" for maintenance. We installed combination locks on our apartments which we program uniquely fo each guest so nobody needs to worry about lost or stolen keys. Many guests have now enjoyed the space and comfort they can enjoy with us at a more affordable price, particularly in comparison to many expensive and cramped NYC hotel rooms.
Moving to NYC from the west coast, it did not take long to discover that NYC is not a very "user friendly" or "intuitive" place -- even if English is your first language. In fact, it has taken us years to accumulate substantial, vital knowledge about the city which you might quickly discover anywhere else and we still constantly learn new things. Thus, we have also created informational sheets about NYC which we provide to our guests to share our information and experiences with our guests so that their brief visit can focus on enjoying the many wonderful things in NYC that you could never experience anywhere else. Most of our guests seem to greatly appreciate these orientation sheets and other assistance we provide.
Providing complete service is also what sets us apart from the hundreds of hotels and short term rental businesses. Like many businesses, we tell our guests that if they need anything to not hesitate to ask us. The difference is we truly mean it. Anyone can rent you an apartment, but we do not abandon you if you have a problem or difficulty in NYC. If we can provide something we will. We are not perfect but we have served many, many guests now who have seemed to truly enjoy some of those special experiences available here.
